Fairy Toast
I will always be a fan of sweet breakfast ideas. I am now a super busy teacher for Outschool and homeschool mom. So I need meals to be quick. I am intentionally choosing better versions of our favorite junk foods. I don’t remember how I stumbled upon this recipe. It magically appeared into our lives. Hence the name, “Fairy Toast.” For some reason, my kids enjoy when I name our favorite dishes.
This is not just a super cute recipe. It tastes really good. If no one else in the family enjoys this recipe, the kids will. You can even customize the banana shapes.
I have wanted to share recipes on the site for a while. However, I teach art. Mostly fashion and digital art to kids. There’s a loophole tho…well maybe a donut hole (please ignore that joke attempt & keep reading).
The connection is we have drawn quite a bit of food in some of my classes. I also draw a lot of food in my free time, especially donuts. I’m not quite sure how that started neither. I just know it is way less calories to draw them instead of eating them.
We even created a Procreate and Foodies class. Each week students get to draw new foods. It’s funny the students tend to crave the foods that we draw.

I said all of that to say this….adding a weekly or biweekly recipe to the Johnni Dahl blog just makes sense. Making art and good food just pairs well together! I’m not quite sure what this section of the blog will be called. What about Art food? Or what if it were called Pixels and Pancakes, or Pencils and Pancakes? I’m also leaning towards Johnni Dahl Kawaii Cafe like our Youtube channel that has relaxing and cozy breakfast music.

Ok, let’s talk about this recipe. I know you are probably thinking girl we know how to make peanut butter toast! Do you tho? Remember, this isn’t just peanut butter toast. It is Fairy Toast, and should be branded as such at all times! Now, don’t get mad at me when they ask for this healthy breakfast every morning. Be sure to stock up on PB&J.
There are just a few essentials that make this toast a little bit better.
First, we need ingredients. Choose a nice bread. I prefer a nice sourdough or the Multigrain bread from Trader Joe’s. Spread a little butter on your bread. Layer on your peanut butter on both of your slices. Yes, you will want two slices. One will not be enough. Also, make two slices for anyone else that you serve this recipe. Slice your bananas. Oh, make sure you preheated your oven. 350 will do the trick. Also, please remember I didn’t cook until I was about 29 sooooo. If you’d like to put your bananas in when you toast the bread and slightly melt the peanut butter then do you. I prefer to put my bananas on after the toast comes out of the oven. I normally toast mine on a baking tray for about 5 minutes. Once your timer goes off safely remove from oven. SAFELY!
Bananas are on. Sometimes, I even put on sliced almonds just a few and the crunch just makes this recipe super bomb. Sprinkle the cinnamon or even pumpkin pie seasonings. Drizzle with your choice of maple syrup, honey, or agave. The last and most crucial step is to add sprinkles. Now you can certainly add any type of sprinkles. However, if you want this to be the OG of fairy toast you have to take your time and search for the star shaped sprinkles. I am telling you it’s something about these little sprinkles that will just set your toast OFF! It’s also my go to when I want candy. I will just sprinkle on some frozen pineapples and I’m good.

Now I know I’m a little dramatic about this toast but look at the pic above and tell me this toast does not look good! It’s also one of my easy snacks/breakfast ideas during my weight loss journey.

Now remember you can customize this toast however you’d like. Instead of cutting out your bananas in the shape of flowers. Cut them out in the shape of dinosaurs and BAM you’ve got T-Rex toast! Have fun and be creative.
Have you ever had “Fairy Toast” but your family calls it something else?
If you try this recipe, I’d love to know how you liked it. Or how did you edit.
